Welcome to Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra Youth Strings! Founded in Spring 2016, we accept all enthusiastic players of violin, viola, cello and bass without auditions. Our students come from across the region including Troy, Cedarville, Beavercreek, Springboro and Northern Cincinnati. While we are diverse in age and abilities we share the common thread of joyful music making, community effort and the willingness to learn.
Our atmosphere is welcoming, challenging and inspirational with high emphasis on personal preparation and attention to string specific techniques. Our music programming honors the classics and embraces eclectic styles like fiddle, jazz, pop, rock and klezmer. Opportunities exist for students to play as orchestral, chamber and solo musicians. From your first day of playing through high school, MVSO Youth Strings is with you every step of the way. We’re looking forward to meeting you or having you back for an exceptional year of music making.
