On May 13, 2008,  the MVSO announced the next conductor for the MVSO will be a local talent.  After and exhaustive search considering many candidates Dr. Kenneth Kohlenberg, Professor of Music at Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio was selected to be the next Music Director of the MVSO.  The 2008-2009 concert season promises to be an exciting year under the skilled direction of Dr. Kohlenberg.

 Dr. Kohlenberg received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas, his Master of Music degree from Michigan State University, and both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan. Dr. Kohlenberg conducts the Community Concert Band, the Community Wind Symphony, and the Youth Wind Ensemble at Sinclair.
